Make your own heirloom heritage platter

Service Description

Do you have lace doillies that have been handed down in your family? This workshop will teach you how to immortalise the design of the doily in clay to make your own 'Heritage platter' that could become a family heirloom. Pay homage to the makers and creators of yesteryear by participating in this 2 hour handbuilding workshop. You will make, create and colour your own stoneware platter. It will then be fired and clear glazed ready for you to pick up 3-4 weeks after the workshop. Bring your own doily of sentimental value or use one of ours that we have rescued from Op Shops. Light refreshments included. Each participant will be given a slab of white stoneware clay and can choose to make multiple smaller pieces (eg. ring dishes or 1-2 larger pieces, eg. platter and small plate) *please note gold decoration on rim of plate is not part of this workshop.
