Bowls with Soul: A Fundraiser for Gabe Saturday 19 September Join us for an evening of warmth, community, and connection as we come together to support Gabe, the eight-year-old son of one of our cherished studio members, Kirby. Kirby and her family were rocked by the sudden and unexpected news that Gabe has been diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumour located in his brain stem. He has undergone emergency surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible and is now facing a long and challenging road to recovery. Gabe may still require further oncology treatment and extensive physical therapy as he works towards regaining his strength and returning to the happy and active boy. Kirby is now focused on giving Gabe every opportunity to heal, recover and regain his strength. In the spirit of generosity and care, our studio ceramic artists have each donated a beautiful handmade bowl for this special event. On the night, you'll be invited to choose your own unique ceramic bowl, which will be filled with a nourishing homemade soup and served with fresh bread. The bowl is yours to take home as a lasting reminder of the community that came together to make a difference. We are raising funds to support Gabe and his mum, Kirby, during this incredibly difficult time. Gabe will need significant time to recover, and these funds will help ease the financial pressure on Kirby, allowing her to remain at home to provide the care, comfort and support he needs throughout his recovery. By helping to cover everyday living expenses, medical appointments, travel costs, and the loss of income while away from work, your support will reduce the financial burden on their family and help prevent Kirby from having to return to full-time work before Gabe is ready. Most importantly, it will give them the precious gift of time together—time focused on healing, recovery, and making memories, rather than financial stress. Every bowl shared, every ticket purchased, and every dollar raised will make a meaningful difference.
