Create a design on a plate - Sgraffito

Service Description

This workshop is designed to introduce you to sgraffito (Italian for 'scratched') techniques. If you've been doing pottery for a while and would like to learn a new technique, would like to refresh your skills or you're completely new to pottery but like the idea of creating your own design in a plate then this workshop is for you. You'll be guided through underglaze/slip application, tool selection and ways of scratching through your own designs. Come with your own drawings/sketches/ideas and we'll guide you through how to get them onto a plate. This workshop does not include making a piece of pottery, you will be provided with a few small pieces/tile to practice on and then a medium sized plate to create your finished piece. The studio will clear glaze fire 1 piece for you to collect 3 - 4 weeks after your workshop.
